The Gauntlet is Thrown!
The general election began last night with John McCain and Barack Obama engaging each other on the other’s turf.
Sen. Obama spoke at the Xcel Center in St. Paul where John McCain will accept his party’s nomination this fall. Earlier that evening Sen. McCain inaugurated his general election campaign playing to the youth vote by jumping onto a popular internet trend: the green screen challenge!
Yes, that green backdrop is not just aesthetically disastrous stagecraft, it allows McCain’s savvy young supporters to “remix” the speech by inserting his message of tested leadership into fanciful new situtations.
The campaign is already flooded with submissions. Here’s an early favorite.
